Modalities

At Success Rehab Clinic we have several kinds of techniques and modalities that are used to aid you in your recovery! Below are some of the many kinds of different rehabilitation aides we have available:

MedX Low-Level Laser Therapy

As recommended on the Dr. Oz show!!!

Low-Level Laser Therapy is a type of modality that uses light energy on a specific wavelength that allows the deep tissue of your body to recuperate faster within its tissues. This light energy is then absorbed by the body via the muscles, joints, and ligaments. This then results in a reduction of swelling, acceleration of healing time, and an increased pain threshold, due to the release of endorphins (morphine-like substances that inhibit the sensation of pain). To sum this up, you will have an increased pain threshold that allows the health professionals at Success Rehab Clinic to perform manual therapies to get you back in your A-game.

Therapeutic Laser is very safe, and has been proven to be very effective in the treatment of osteoarthritis, muscle strains, and sports injuries.

Therapeutic Ultrasound

Ultrasound therapy uses high-frequency sound waves to help in the treatment and healing of wounds and injuries. It has been shown to be very effective in resolving inflammation and reducing pain, while promoting expeditious healing.

Ultrasound therapy works by two mechanisms: thermal and mechanical. The thermal aspect of ultrasound therapy uses a continuous pattern of sound waves that penetrates deep into the tissues, causing microscopic vibrations. By doing this, the temperature of the treated tissue area gets warmer, this increases the blood flow and metabolic rate of that tissue. The mechanical aspect of ultrasound therapy uses sound wave pulses that penetrate more deeply, causing small bubbles in the soft tissue to expand and contract; this reduces the swelling and inflammation of the tissue, and most importantly your pain.

TENS- Transcutaneous Electrical Nerve Stimulation

TENS works by blocking the pain messages that get delivered to the brain. When this occurs it releases endorphins, which are out natural body’s painkillers, and eases off your pain levels. You feel a light tingling sensation on the affected area when the current is active. TENS is not painful nor uncomfortable.

IFC – Interferential Current

IFC is similar to TENS, as it is another form of electrical stimulation. The difference between IFC and TENS is that IFC perforates the deeper tissues of your body. It alleviates pain and restores the tissues to its’ normal condition by emitting electrical currents into the affected area. This blocks your pain while stimulating endorphin production and allows the tissues to repair heal within themselves.

If you have any questions about any of the above mentioned modalities make sure to ask the Registered Physiotherapists at Success Rehab Clinic during your session as we’re here not only to help you feel better, but for you to gain a better understanding of how your body works, and how you can maintain your health in the future.
